AMC Election Scheduled
Dear Pilots:
Your election has been scheduled. The election will be conducted
by telephone electronic voting. This is a fairly new process being
used by the NMB. The notice and sample instructions will be sent
out on August 11, 2003. The telephone electronic voting instructions
will be mailed to the pilots on August 18, 2003. The voting period
will be from 12:01 a. m., ET, August 18, 2003, through September
15, 2003, at 2 p. m., ET. If you do not receive your voting instructions
by August 25, 2003, please refer to the notices that will be posted
at all bases for information on how to get your voting instructions.
The way this process works is: your ballot instructions will contain
a six (6) digit voter identification number (VIN) and an (800) number
to call. When you call in to vote you will have to enter your VIN
along with the last four digits of your social security number.
You will then receive some prompts instructing you on how to vote.
This voting process will make it easier for you to vote. However,
all pilots who want union representation must become proactive and
cannot become complacent. Please keep in mind that the process for
winning is still the same. You must get 50% plus one of who is eligible
to vote to win. Everybody starts out as a no vote and remains a
no vote unless they call in to vote yes. There are currently 565
pilots on the potential voter list. If that list remains as is you
will need 283 pilots to vote yes to win.
For a better future for you and your families:
PILOT YES! OPEIU YES!
